35 consultants join Avicenna Clinic

A brand new private healthcare clinic, located on North Street in Peterborough, has appointed 35 consultants to join its team.

Avicenna Clinic, due to open its doors to patients this December, is an independent, consultantled private healthcare practice. The consultants practising at the clinic will offer a range of specialisms such as general surgery, diagnostics and testing and spinal care.

Leaders in their fields, they all appear on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register.

Dr Hany Elmadbouh, lead consultant and radiologist, said: “The consultants who have registered at the clinic offer a wealth of experience and expertise and skills that they will transfer to Avicenna for the benefit of its patients.

“It is an exciting time in private health care and I am delighted and encouraged with the response the consultants have shown.

“The clinic will be a centre of excellence, specialising in minimally invasive surgery, imaging and image-guided intervention techniques.”

It will also be offering the first Hitachi Open MRI facility in East Anglia which is particularly useful for patients who suffer from claustrophobia or obesity. Patients benefit from MRI scanning technology without experiencing unnecessary anxiety or physical discomfort associated with the more usual enclosed imaging systems which typically have a tunnel-like scanning area.

Hany continues: “Being the first clinic in the region to have an Open MRI Scanner is just one example of the way we will be using the latest technology to provide the highest level of patient care here at the clinic.”
