Alleviating your worries of The Change

It’s a rite of passage that all women experience in their lives; the menopause. Onset starts, on average, at 51 years of age, but can happen much earlier or later.

Most women will experience some symptoms, which can range from mild to more serious. These may include:

  • Hot flushes and night sweats. For some women, this is associated with feeling faint or a racing heart.
  • Vaginal changes
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Mood changes
  • Loss of interest in sex (libido)
  • Mood changes such as irritability, depression or anxiety
  • Headaches
  • Urinary changes

There may also be some longer-term health problems, such as osteoporosis (loss of bone density), heart disease, stroke, weakness of the pelvic floor and vaginal muscles.
